Vodacom Group (Pty) Limited owns a majority share portion of 65%, the remaining 35% is owned by Tanzanian shareholder, one Mirambo ltd. </p> <p> In December 1999, Vodacom Group (Pty) Ltd. won a bid to operate a GSM cellular network and provide Public Land Mobile Network Services (PLMN) in the United Republic of Tanzania and formed the subsidiary company Vodacom Tanzania. Today, 10 years later the company has over 8.5 million subscribers and still counting. </p> <p> Vodacom Tanzania has deployed state of the art technology, thereby enhancing its product portfolio and positioning itself as the market leader for any communication solution. The Tanzania Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (TCCIA) was established in 1988. It was initiated with the support of the Tanzanian Government to strengthen the private sector. TCCIA has regional offices in all 21 regions of mainland Tanzania and over 90 district centers, which are autonomous in their operational activities. These autonomous TCCIA Chambers in 21 regions of the country link the private sector to the Government with a view of promoting the development of private enterprise

Tanga Cement Company is a producer and supplier of cement used in construction and making of concrete products. The construction of Tanga Cement commenced in 1978 with commissioning taking place in July 1980.
