On November 20, 2009 Heads of State from Five East African Countries (Burundi, Kenya, Reanda, Tanzania, and Uganda) signed a protocol on the establishment of East African Community Common Market. the protocol contains provisions that remove restrictions on free movement of labour and people, right of establishment, free movement of goods and a schedule on liberalisation of trade in service among others as attached
