Based in Nairobi, Kenya, British American Tobacco East Africa Zone comprises 16 markets. It brings together a great diversity of cultures and business environments, stretching from Eritrea to Madagascar and from Rwanda to Somalia. In East Africa, BAT grows tobacco leaf as well as manufacture tobacco products both for domestic and export markets. Jinja in Uganda has one of the British American Tobacco Group’s centres of leaf growing excellence, as well as a state-of-the-art green leaf threshing plant. In Nairobi, Kenya, BAT factory is one of the Group’s centres of manufacturing excellence, and we also have a green leaf threshing plant in Thika.
